1 - A wax pattern
is produced from a machined metal cavity die. |
2 - Patterns are
assembled on to a wax runner to form an assembly. |

- 4 The assembly is invested or coated with a refractory slurry
and then the wet coated assembly is stuccoed with dry refractory
particles. |

5 - The wax is
removed from the completed mould. |
6 - The dewaxed
mould is fired.. |
7 - Metal is cast
into the hot mould. |

Following cooling to room temperature the refractory shell is
removed. |

9 - The castings
are cut away from the central sprue using a high speed friction
saw. |
10 - Runners and
risers are removed. |
11 - Some castings
are processed through heat treat to meet required mechanical
properties. |

- The finished castings are inspected. |
